SIGMA Malta 2022 - Down to Earth High Rolling

I have been to SIGMA Malta 2022 and I can't wait to share with you the cool experience that I had! This whole journey was something completely new for me, as this was my first time attending such a conference.

Therefore, you are now reading the fresh perspective of someone that was new to the world of conferences, without knowing much about them. Me and you, the reader, will go through this experience together and find out how much this event has offered to me.

SIGMA Malta 2022 - A place for iGaming

The journey was a smooth one. You might be surprised to find out that it was one of my first times traveling by plane, and the destination was exciting to me - the sunny and warm Malta.

To get to the actual venue, from the hotel I was staying in, me and my team would take a shuttle bus. The bus would drive us directly to the venue where the fun begins.

I must say that Malta is a beautiful destination, but the streets are a bit scary, as they made me feel that an accident is near at any time. Luckily, the drivers are used to this, know what they’re doing and the roads remain safe.

Once I got to the venue, I took my name tag and entered the SIGMA Conference. The first day was more for accommodation. I walked through the stands and got used to the place, as I wanted to see everything.

I was amazed by the colors of the place, the music, and the welcoming atmosphere. At first, I walked around the stands to see what is going on and I discovered some pretty cool stuff.

The Fun Never Ends

Once I got a bit tired of exploring, I decided it was time for coffee.

I personally enjoy a good cup of coffee at any time of the day, and the best part was that multiple stands offered some great coffee for free! And not only coffee, but the place was also full of options, from alcoholic beverages to donuts and candies.

I tried a couple of muffins and they were absolutely delicious, they tasted like promising partnerships and nice wins. Leaving the jokes aside, the people from the stands made sure that everyone stay hydrated and full of snacks.

Besides the consumables, I’ve tried some of the free-to-play slots. There were demos available on either phones, desktops, or screens where the gameplay experience was taken to the next level, as the idea was to become immersed in the game.

I tried my luck and, if it would’ve been for real money, I would’ve left with my pockets empty. That is why I resumed to responsible gambling, even if it was for free - a piece of advice I also offer to you.

The free play wasn’t limited to screens, as there were a few table games that offered a dealer and blackjack or roulette games to play live. These were really interesting as you could feel the real experience of playing table games with no risk of losing money.

Remember when I mentioned that some stands were full of snacks?

Well, they also have different gifts that you could just take. I adore these types of things, and so I returned home with some funky socks, cool pens, and notebooks.

I bet you didn’t expect socks and neither did I, but they are fun and are even qualitative.

Stands & Popular Games at SIGMA 2022

I must admit that the stands that stood out the most were the ones that had sparkly colors. This would be, at first sight, but when I had a better look I also noticed the nice people that were welcoming me to their stand.

That is how I managed to speak with representatives from multiple brands and discovered details about their future plans. I also observed that plans were made between partners about their future collaborations.

These collaborations were about different affiliation businesses or promotional packages that should happen during or after the conference when everybody would return to their offices.

I hope I am not mistaken, but the biggest stand or at least the most impressive for me was Aviator by Spribe.

They had a bar, a screen to play the game, promoters, and places to sit down when you got too tired. I actually stayed there when I wanted to write some notes for this article.

Besides the stands of software providers and casinos, there were also stands that offered finance and other banking-related solutions for brands that want to open a new casino or that simply prefer safer ways of making business.

The providers were keen to promote some of their latest and most popular games in their portfolio and we are excited to present you with some of them.

Not all of them were playable, some were just presented on the provider’s stand, but I still think they are cool and worth a try.

Impressions of My Experience

Before I mention anything else, I have to say that the food in Malta is just amazing! I mostly went to Italian restaurants and the food was mouth-watering. I am not generally a foodie, but I tell you not, for the risotto I had there I could’ve become one.

I noticed there were multiple payment providers stands, and then my colleagues let me know that there are even more payment providers than in the years before. Could this mean that there are more people trying to open online casinos? Stay tuned on our platform and you will definitely find out!

Now I want to talk about how this conference had an impact on me.

First of all, I understood how to create new partnerships with other brands, as I took part in my very first negotiation meeting.

We discussed how to promote each other through our platforms.

Besides this, getting in touch so many new people really helped me be a better social butterfly as the intersection of cultures and languages gave conversations a different perspective.

And let’s not forget about the cool live dealer robot that was dealing the cards. Can’t wait to see it in live casinos in the near future.

My Final Thoughts

I am excited about all the new things that are coming to the iGaming industry, as SIGMA promises a better and safer way of gambling.

Of course, gambling is not lacking flaws and dangers, but the conference showed me a glimpse of people’s simple wish of making it work in a way that is fun, and secure.
