The main aquarium is a massive 23 meters long and 14 meters wide and features activities like snorkeling with the fish and diving with the sharks.

While visiting, you can also experience the walk-through tunnels and admire the schools of fish as close as possible. The opportunity to explore and learn about the aquatic life of the Bahamas throughout your stay in this architectural marvel is next to none.

Resorts World Sentosa aims to be a one-stop shop for all your entertainment needs. It also boasts Universal Studios Singapore, which is the only movie-based theme park in the country. There are 6 themed zones in the park, from Hollywood and Sci-Fi City to the more mystical Ancient Egypt and the fairytale kingdom of Far Far Away.

The theme park is designed with 24 rides with different themes ranging from movie titles like Jurrasic Park and Madagascar to Puss in Boots and Sesame Street. The rides themselves are intricately designed, with the Battlestar Galactica being a prime example of them. Coming to the casino itself, it features an iconic facade above with faint blue lights and the glass and metal construction.

All of these attractions have a focal point which is the massive Universal Globe in the middle of the park. The gigantic globe surrounded by fountains is the most recognizable feature of the park. The casino is seamlessly integrated into the resort, and the high ceiling and open floor plan allow for natural light to permeate throughout the casino floor as well.

Staying in Asia in the meantime, the Wynn Palace in Macau is an architectural marvel in itself. The 28-story hotel holds numerous add-ons, like the largest spa in Macau, 13 dining establishments, and 420,000 square feet of gaming space. However, the most intricate architectural marvel there is the Performance Lake.

Every 30 minutes after 12 pm, a synchronized and choreographed water show starts at the Performance Lake. The lake itself is an engineering feat and seamlessly blends in lights and music with the choreographed fountains. This marvelous view also seamlessly blends itself into the landscaped areas and garden around it to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the casino.

As the center stage of the casino’s entire appeal, the Lake is endowed with 370 precise water nozzles that shoot up the water and 1540 lights that can be individually programmed to make the entire show a spectacle.

The atrium features everything from art galleries, and light shows to a champagne bar within the stunning glass displays. Looking up at the ceiling, you will see intricate glass showers dispersing lights at various angles to add a contemporary elegance to the casino. The center of the atrium also has a glass dome featuring various geometric cuts to enhance the natural light that comes into the atrium during the daytime.

The atrium also features an indoor waterfall that crawls down several steps and a number of pools reflecting light in a similar manner. The casino has been crafted in a way to make use of light to create cosmopolitan elegance that is incredibly rare.

Apart from all the art inside, the Salle Garnier is also explicitly designed with meticulous attention to its acoustics. Although the structure was first built back in 1879, modern renovations were done to it back in 2004 to ensure exceptional acoustics and sound projection.

A classic among Vegas enthusiasts, the Bellagio Casino Resort has decades of history behind it. It has changed a lot over the years, but the one thing that symbolizes the elegance of the casino remains the same, the $40 million fountain at the Bellagio.

The Bellagio Water Show is held at the 8.5-acre man-made lake in front of the Bellagio Casino at 30-minute intervals from 3 pm to 8 pm, and after that, it goes on till midnight at 15-minute intervals. With an incredible 1,214 water nozzles and 4,792 individually controlled lights, it has the Performance Lake at the Wynn Macau beat by a wide margin.

The show is designed with meticulous attention to detail, and features choreographed water movements with unique sequences and patterns. This free attraction is an icon of the luxury and opulence that the city of Las Vegas prides itself on.

4. Sky Tower - SkyCity Auckland, New Zealand

Although the Sky Tower at SkyCity is said to be a telecommunications and observation wing of the casino resort, it has several high-up public places that make it a must when visiting Auckland and the SkyCity casino.

Over the years, the tower has become an iconic symbol of the city with its unique design and sheer height of 1,076 feet. Ever since its opening in 1997, the tower has functioned not just as a sky deck but also as an observation deck, skywalks, fine dining halls, and restaurants for the patrons of the SkyCity casino. The tower also features the only revolving restaurant at the very top of the tower.

During special events and celebrations, the tower also lights up as a display for everybody. The casino itself also lights up the tower beyond just special occasions to show support for organizations and charities that are making the world a better place.

3. Eiffel Tower Experience - The Parisian Macao, Macau

The Parisian casino resort is one of the newest casinos in Macau, with over 2,700 rooms and suites and 21 restaurants and bars. The attraction inside? A massive half-scale replica of the Eiffel Tower with over 135,000 square feet of gaming space filled to the brim with games.

The Parisian is an architectural marvel through and through. One glance at the casino from the outside, and you will see the 525-foot Eiffel Tower. Stay till the evening, and the Grand Illumination Show starts up every 15 minutes and lights up the entire tower with jazz music to accompany it. The large fountain in the atrium of the casino also contributes to its beauty with viewing galleries for the Illumination Show on the 7th and 37th floors.

That’s not all, you can also scale the replica of the Eiffel Tower and take in the views of the entire city. The sense of being in the heart of Paris is a difficult one to replicate, and yet the Parisian pulls off a convincing image at the top.

2. Grand Canal Shoppes - The Venetian and the Palazzo, USA

The Venetian and the Palazzo

[source: tripadvisor.ca]

For over 2 decades, the Venetian has been at the center of Paradise, Las Vegas. Its iconic theme of replicating Venice might be one of the most challenging and complex architectural feats to work around. Skeptics might not even buy the look until they happen across the Grand Canal Shoppes, the iconic upscale shopping mall inside the casino resort.

The entire structure spans over 875,000 square feet, with canals all over for visitors to travel through in the traditional gondolas that have become synonymous with Venice.

All around the canals are restaurants, bars, high-end fashion retailers, live performances, and much more. The canals also get you incredible views of the arched bridges and cobblestone streets that are designed with precision to replicate Venetian canals.

The impressively massive indoor canal system aside, the Grand Canal Shoppes also features iconic landmarks like St. Mark's Square and the Doge's Palace. You can also look into the Armillary Sphere and Grand Colonnade inside the casino with authentic murals, frescos, and sculptures.

1. The Colosseum - Caesar’s Palace, USA

The Colosseum

The original Flavian Amphitheater might not be as grand as it was back in the Roman Empire’s heyday, but a small glimpse of its grandeur is captured by the Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace. This is no imitation either, the theatre is designed to be a recreation of the original with architectural elements and tiered seating.

With a capacity for over 4,100 people and $108 million spent on recreating the intricate details that made the original so grand, the Colosseum is synonymous with Vegas. With over 156 speakers spread across 15,700 square feet of space, it's no wonder that the Colosseum is the top live entertainment venue worldwide since 2005. It has featured big-name celebrities like Madonna, Elton John, Mariah Carey, and many more over the years.

Its journey from the defunct Circus Maximus to the most expensive entertainment venue in Vegas started all the way back in 2003, and the Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace has been a marvel of not just casino architecture but engineering feats ever since.

With that, we come to the end of our fascinating dive into the wild world of casino architecture.

These awe-inspiring wonders are sure to impress you no matter when you visit these casinos. From insanely accurate depictions of ancient Rome to intricate displays of water, the engineering feats behind these attractions are remarkable.

However, this wasn’t all; there are numerous other masterpieces inside and outside casinos that definitely deserve appreciation.

The next time you visit a local casino, be sure to look around! Who knows what architectural secrets these establishments are still hiding from us?
