According to various researches, the most frequent winning Keno numbers are 1, 4, 23, 34, and 72. However, based on my experience, the list is much longer.

Every avid player has sought to find the right way of predicting the winning Keno numbers. But, to truly answer that question, one must first delve into statistics and probability.

Key takeaway

Keno is a game of luck like the lottery, and the only legit way to predict the game's outcome is through analyzing data from thousands of sessions.

Still, even that approach may only be somewhat reliable, as numbers drawn the most in online Keno can vary.

This is due to the RNG (Random Number Generator), which triggers a new set of random numbers multiple times per second whenever the game is activated.

Now, my guide may not be able to help you determine which of the dozens of number combinations will come up, but it could narrow your search for the right set of numbers in Keno.

In further reading, you will learn more about:

Remember that you can always go back to our list of keno guides and learn more about the game and its patterns and strategies.

What are the Best Keno Numbers? Do They Really Exist?

We already know that the most drawn Keno numbers (also called “hot numbers”) are 1, 4, 23, 34, and 72. They are among the most frequent spots in Keno, but what about the other 75?

Before I answer this question, it's essential to mention the golden rule:

"Every number in Keno has the same chance of being drawn."

It is tough to imagine that the best Keno numbers even exist. Yet, after analyzing the statistics from thousands of Keno games, it is possible to use math and see what numbers appear the most based on past draws.

According to data collection from many sessions, certain Keno spots have a slight advantage over the others.

This percentage may seem insignificant initially, but picking these top Keno-winning numbers, in the long run, could be a win-win situation.

With some luck, you could make frequent winning combinations and diversify your strategies and patterns for better performance. The trick is to know when.

best keno numbers

These numbers are 3, 12, 27, 31, 32, 35, 40, 49, 50, and 65 but we can take a better look at them and their frequency in a draw thanks to the following table:

Number Probability
27 25.59%
35 25.53%
65 25.52%
50 25.50%
12 25.48%
32 25.46%
40 25.45%
49 25.45%

Although it is eye-opening to see which numbers are drawn most frequently, note that we can't choose them consecutively in any future draws.

Think of the coin flip outcome: landing it on heads or tails will not affect the outcome of subsequent draws, right?

On another note, if you stick to the land-based version of Keno, the most frequent state-drawn numbers are 3, 16, 44, 58, and 78

So, is there a way to predict Keno numbers for every game round

Let's find out in the next section.

The Odds of Predicting Keno Numbers Successfully

To date, no mathematical algorithm could calculate the odds of predicting the most winning numbers in Keno, let alone come up with a winning formula.

You would probably need a quantum computer to predict Keno numbers that hit the most successfully.

The thing is that numbers in Keno, lottery, bingo, or some other game of chance, are entirely random.

odds of predicting numbers in keno

On top of that, many calculators don't even support the combinatorial function, precisely their outcomes.

There are 3,535,316,142,212,180,000 ways that the game can draw 20 numbers out of 80.  That first number is read 'quintillion,' by the way, just to give you an idea of where you stand.

So, the probability that your first pick will match one of the game's numbers in a round is 20/80. If you make a match, the chance you'll hit another spot in 19 numbers out of 79 is 19/79.

It gets complicated because the probability of winning (20/80)*(19/79) is around 6.01%.

Long story short, a supercomputer could help solve some combinatorial calculations, but it would never be able to truly predict the next winning numbers.

In the end, it all comes down to your hunch or gut feeling. Call it what you like.

Or perhaps not?

Cold Numbers in Keno

There are many theories online on Keno hot numbers, as certain spots appear more often than others.

However, there are also the "cold" numbers, or 7, 12, and 23, which are spots that are played less frequently.

Hypothetically, their probability of being drawn in the next round is smaller than with the other 77 numbers, so avoiding them is the best way to proceed.

How to use cold numbers

Some players go for these numbers now and then, just to add to the entertainment of Keno. Some believe in "reverse psychology," stating that if these spots haven't appeared so often, they may come around after 100 games or so.

Sounds interesting but challenging to prove, and it's most likely attributed to Gambler's Fallacy.

The Most Commonly Drawn Numbers (for Different Keno Variants)

keno most drawn numbers

I have already revealed the most common keno Keno numbers. But does the same sequence stand for every Keno variant?

Almost every version of Keno (land-based and online), software, or even the playing location can give you different results.

On that account, some lotteries create tables with numbers that hit the most in Keno over the last year, 6 months, 3 months, or 30 days. This is a great way to entertain the audience, or make the game far more interesting than it already is.

For example, the Michigan Lottery uses a hot and cold number generator to create a new sequence based on the results of the last 10 to 100 Keno games played.

The Washington Lottery suggests that another sequence of numbers (75, 29, 53, 65, and 42) is the most common one, and so on. For that reason, we must always be aware that the data often change. Therefore, it is unrealistic to expect to find these numbers on the list of catches every time.

In German Keno, the numbers with the highest frequency are 64, 27, 49, 53, 24, 20, 9, 32, 10, and 29, in that particular order.

However, despite having a similar frequency of 25% when translated to percentage, we can never be 100% sure if any of the exposed frequent winning combinations above will provide good results.

Remember

To guess five numbers out of five picks, you would have to beat the probability of 1 in 1,551, while getting all 10 spots out of 10 picks complicates things even further, with odds standing at 1 in 8,911,711.

Take that info into consideration the next time you select the most commonly drawn numbers in Keno.

Are There Any Lucky Numbers in Keno?

lucky numbers in keno

Since the Keno game requires luck to be successful, just like any other lottery-based raffle, it only comes naturally that certain spots are considered lucky.

Of course, this is just a myth since every digit has approximately the same chance of showing up in a draw.

Still, many players are quite superstitious, and mostly all have their own lucky Keno numbers.

For example

In the United States, number 7 is considered a lucky one, but you will also see players going for 77. Players often pick the number 6 because it represents wealth, while 8 is connected to prosperity, and so on.

Nonetheless, it is no secret that some Keno players stick to even and odd numbers alone. In contrast, others rely on:

  • important historical;
  • personal dates;
  • birthdays;
  • ID numbers;
  • random sequencing.

Players even do the opposite and often avoid specific numbers. The numbers 6, 13, and 66 are generally considered bad luck, so they stay away from those when making a combo.

In the end, choosing those numbers based on high-frequency winning patterns is a good choice, but hey, you have to throw in the factor of surprise every once in a while, right?

Fun fact

There is nothing wrong with playing a set of favorite dates. After all, a man won $25,000 on Daily Keno in 2019 by playing his own numbers that combined birthdays and anniversaries.

Keno Numerology – Does it Really Work?

keno numerology

There is also a more extraordinary, almost mystical approach to choosing numbers in Keno.

Inspired by numerology, a study that deals with the occult significance of numbers, certain players opt for the most popular numbers in Keno relating to coincidences or personality traits.

It is believed that numerologists can calculate the winning numbers based on an individual's personality, which usually involves:

  • life path number;
  • expression number;
  • heart's desire number.

By making these vast numbers of calculations, they can even reveal one's destiny number, a likely favorite.

Dedicated Keno players decide to use numerology for selecting numbers in this game of chance because it makes up a powerful, sacred system that goes back thousands of years.

These players are convinced that numbers have an energetic influence on our lives, so why not on the game itself?

Without any scientific proof of numerology, I can't claim that this system works.

There is no apparent correlation between Keno numbers and their "cosmic powers," so unless you're superstitious, you better use this ancient mystical science for entertainment purposes only.

There haven't been any reports, high scores, or winning results based on numerology, even when using Master Numbers, such as 11 and 22.

Want to have fun? Here is how you can calculate your birth path number:

Say your birthday is July 4th, 1971. Since July is the 7th month, you add up all the digits like this: 7+ 4 + 1 + 9 + 7 + 1 = 29.

Now reduce this number to a single digit: 2 + 9 = 11 and then once more: 1 + 1 = 2.

The final digit, 2, is your birth path number.

Tips and Tricks for Playing the Best Keno Numbers

The best numbers to play on Keno make your bankroll last as long as possible. Finding them, however, takes time and effort.

They can be 1, 2, 23, 34, and 72, which some players believe are the most drawn numbers, or you can go with a reduced betting system and make different four-digit combos from 1, 2, 15, 23, 56, and 78.

Picking sequential numbers is also an innovative way to play the game of Keno and trick the algorithm at some point. Try marking 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20 rather than making random picks or skipping a number in a string like this: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, etc.

Then, there are also the most drawn numbers in Keno according to the game's variant, such as 1, 4, 23, 34, and 72 for online keno.

It doesn't matter what you choose to play. If you need inspiration or want to go with ‘the safest option’, go for the sequences with four and six numbers (spots), as they can make sensible payouts.

The truth is, there are no fail-winning Keno patterns because any one number has the same chance to be drawn. At least, that's what every "Keno User Manual" says.

To sum up, here are some power tips and tricks for choosing your numbers:

Understand the Rules

learning the keno rules

It doesn’t make sense to play a game of chance without understanding its rules. Knowing when to raise or lower your bet, use the fast pick option, clear selection, switch to autoplay, or when to quit is very important, but it is also just the first step.

Check out the beginner’s guide on how to play Keno to discover the ins and outs of the game.

The more you learn about something, the better you will get, and maybe you will even discover something new that could help you win more frequently.

Don’t Chase the Perfect 20

don't chase the perfect 20

The odds of hitting that many numbers in a round of Keno is you against the universe, so don’t fall for it. Go for smaller wins and build your way up.

The best strategy is to go with 4 to 6 numbers but feel free to experiment every once in a while.

Know the Odds

the odds in keno

While certain odds of winning in Keno sound scary and actually keep you away from playing, understanding the probabilities of smaller wins could be quite eye-opening and helpful.

Learning the likelihood of making smaller wins brings thrill to Keno and provides a more meaningful gaming session.

Try out Different Patterns

different keno patterns

This has nothing to do with showing off. The goal is to "trick" the algorithm and hit a winning sequence by changing the playing pattern.

You can go with multi-cards, hot numbers, middle spots, four cards, or any other you know of, hoping that the law of probability will do the rest eventually. It doesn't hurt to try.

Try Playing with a Bonus

keno bonuses

Since winning in Keno is difficult, why not claim a bonus and lift your chances of hitting a win?

Keno bonuses are often part of the welcome package, and they also increase the balance to give you a bigger budget, so if nothing happens, at least you practiced and had extended hours of fun.

Expert's Advice: Strategy for Predicting Lotto Numbers

expert advice

Whether it’s Keno, Bingo or lottery, predicting the winning numbers sounds very exciting, but in theory, it is highly unlikely.

There are specific ways to choose the best Keno numbers, but the success rate could be much higher.

My recommendation

You can start by looking up the frequency charts for the previous lottery and Keno draws. While the latter may be difficult to find online, most state lottery programs reveal charts to show how often certain numbers appeared in the draw.

These graphs even go years back, allowing you to make a study and come up with a winning solution.

The next advice would be to select numbers drawn frequently but only if you notice that a few of them appear more often than others.

This could mean that the algorithm favors some digits to a certain degree but enough to only draw them now and then.

You can also do the opposite and choose numbers drawn less frequently, the so-called "cold" numbers.

It's a long shot, but you might be the one smiling in the end because everybody else will be busy picking the "hot" ones.

Always keep the golden rule in mind and acknowledge that each number has an equal chance to be drawn!

Choose low numbers from 1 to 5, as they seem to be part of every major win. If that doesn't work, pick two numbers between 1 and 8. They can be consecutive or random, or you can rearrange them eventually.

This way, you can build a strong 'delta combo,' a sequence based on the study that numbers next to each other are often part of the win.

Final Thoughts

The ultimate advice is to go wild sometimes and enjoy the game.

Pick your lucky numbers, make volatile selections, try a random number generator online, or stick to your favorite sequence. Don't always stick with the most frequent winning Keno numbers, since they are constantly subject to change.

The law of probability is on your side too, so one of the strategies should give you results in time.

Best Keno Numbers FAQ

What is the best way to predict Keno numbers?

You cannot accurately predict Keno numbers. The Random Number Generator controls each draw. Even math couldn't do it.

The only logical approach is to go for the numbers that have a slight advantage over the others, but even then, it's not guaranteed you'll win.

Do specific numbers have a higher chance of appearing in Keno?
Based on a study with results from thousands of draws, numbers 1, 4, 23, 34, and 72 appear more often but only in online Keno. Although not 100% proven, their frequency percentage could be a bit higher than the other 75 spots, but relatively insignificant to hit major wins all the time.
Can numerology guess the winning combination of numbers in Keno?
Numerology is only as good as the daily horoscope. Although we consider some numbers lucky, making any winning calculations based on the mystical powers of numerals is a shot in the dark.
What is the best tip for choosing winning Keno numbers?
Keep your selections between four and eight numbers to prevent overspending and return some money into the balance. This approach grants "safer wins," so you'll have a better experience than with some long-shot combinations of numbers.
Is it true that low and consecutive numbers are the base of every win?

If you compare the charts, it is possible to see a pattern of low and consecutive numbers appearing in every significant lottery win.

This doesn't help much, but you can experiment with numbers from 1 to 5, as well as consecutive spots, and see where it can take you.
